The magic man is here.... 12
The Bluesage family has been quiet for days. Patty and Blue are practicing breathing techniques for the birth of their son. Rebecca paints and gets better with each trial effort. Steven captures many different food stuffs. They have had fish, squirrel, rabbits, birds, and of course marshmellows. Today Bluesage has decided his girls needed a trip to town. They dressed and took off to see the sites at a new Clown Carnival. Blue and Patty walked arm and arm around the place. Rebecca ran around and acted like a six year old. Her joy gave Patty a peaceful memory of how sweet life was when Becca was small. Blue looked over at his wife and squeezed her hand. 'Hey sweet heart, how about you and I go over and let me show you my magic tricks. I've gotten better since I last showed you.' 'Oh Blue, would you dear? Let me get Becca to come too.' She yelled for her daughter to follow them. Bluesage set about getting ready for his duel. Patty and Becca sat and watched as he warmed up and then went full force on the duel. What a marvelous thing it was to see.

As he went on with the duel, he began to make enough of a scene, others came by. Patty was so involved in the fight that she didn't notice that Marie Caner and her sister Isabella had come by to see who was fighting. Marie was shocked to see the sage man. She had heard of him of course, but had never seen him before. Marie walked over to her sister Isabella and whispered in her ear, 'Do you have any idea who that is sis?' Isabella turned around and pushed her away. 'Don't spit in my ear Marie. It's a fabulous magician, that's who it is.' Patty was clapping and cheering as her sage showed his magic to the old man that thought he could win.

When the duel was over, many stopped off to clap Blue on the back and congratulate him. He shook many folks hands and was very pleased with the overall effect. He looked around and saw that he had quite a crowd gathered around him. They wanted his name and an autograph. He was quite amused, until he turned around. Then he saw his wife's face and excused himself from the large group to go find out what was wrong. Patty was standing with Rebecca. She was quite agitated. 'What is wrong dear? You look like you want to say something. Go right ahead dear.' She pulled him over to the side and whipsered to him, 'Blue, do you see that the mob is here. Look over there and see that the Caner sisters are here. And aren't they the men that robbed the Teachers Credit Union the other day? I know my dad has had them in our house before. What are we going to do Blue? Listen Patty, let's just take Becca and go over to the area and watch the snake charmer. I can already see they are not here to take us. They are here to observe us. That is something we can do just fine. Remember in this carnival, there is a strict rule that no cell phones be used. It interpheres with the air ships. So they cannot call your father. We are safe. Now come one, let's get Becca some cotton candy and put her on a ride. You and I can go sit down and meditate a few minutes. It''ll be good for our son you are carrying. '
Bluesage kissed her on the cheek and hugged her lightly. He turned and smiled at the Caner sister and took his girls over to the cotton candy. Rebecca was thrilled to be put on the ride by herself. They watched as she began to scream as the ride threw her back and forth. She was having so much fun. Bluesage and Patty walked over to the bench and sat down in the shade. Bluesage took a bottle of water out of his packback and let her quench her thirst. Then the two of them began to be calm and settled as they held hands and closed their eyes.
Rebecca was breathless when she got off the ride. It was so fun and she wanted to ride it again. She walked around and finally found her parents. They were sitting in the shade on a bench. She could see they were mediatating and decided to go inside the area and golf. She walked around and saw some interesting folks. Some of the men seemed to watch her as she walked by them. She kind of liked that. Becca felt in her pocket and found her money that dad had given her. She paid to play the first two games and was given her golf club. A couple of ladies were playing too, so she felt pretty comfortable. After about a half hour, she felt hungry. She looked up and saw her mother by the popcorn machine.
Becca felt odd. 'Didn't mom wear her favorite blue jumper today? How did she change her clothes? I don't remember her bringing those purple sneakers. And that sweater, I thought she couldn't wear it anymore. She said she was too big now and soon the baby would have to come out or she would have to buy more clothes. How did she get that purple sweater on?' Becca stood still and stared at the woman. The woman turned and smiled at Becca. She was an imposter. She was Sally Hoffa. The family had fixed her up to look like Patty. She also sounded enough like her to pass off as Patty Bluesage. So The Don had Sally set to come and see if she could get to the family. 'Well Rebecca Leola, you better come over here and talk to your mama right now.'
Becca turned to go to her mother. As she walked up to her, she thought to herself, 'She hasn't called me that in a long time now.' The woman took Becca over to stand behind the balloons. She wanted to get her comfortable enough. The two ladies playing games were her partners. They had the plan to let the little girl get comfortable, then get the men in here to take her away. Becca talked to her mother and told her of the ride. The woman acted the part well enough that Rebecca could not see that it was not her mother.

Bluesage opened his eyes and looked out over the lot. People were roaming around. He could see a couple screaming as they raced around the track on the carnival ride. He breathed deeply and smelled the air. Popcorn and cotton candy. He could smell hot dogs and hamburgers. There seemed to be lots of smoke in the air. Many men had cigars lately and it polluted the air sometimes. He turned and looked at his beautiful wife. She was still far away. He loved to sit and look at her. She was so pretty and took such good care of herself. Her skin was so soft and he loved her naturally streaked blonde hair. She was such a good mama to his girl. That triggered something in Bluesage. He felt a jolt of energy. He stood and looked in the direction of the area. He quickly felt an urgency to look inside. Blue looked down at Patty and felt a deep pain. She was so happy, and somehow it was going to change. He could not ignore the feeling of danger that had come on so strongly. He began to walk quickly to the area.
When he turned the corner, he saw her. His daughter was talking to a woman dressed to appear to look like his beloved. He saw that the other ladies in the room has stopped playing and were watching his daughter and this imposter. He felt a surge of energy. He called within his soul for strength and walked steadily to his daughter.
'Yes Rebecca, you are going to go with me to the car. No we are not going by airship.' The imposter was trying to convince her that they had to change their plans. Seems the sticking point for this woman was Steven. The little girl wanted to wait for her father. 'REBECCA, LOOK AT ME' Her father yelled as he approached. The imposter saw Bluesage coming and turned and ran as fast as she could away. All the ladies did the same thing. All of them knew he was a magic man and could hurt them in this closed area.
'Daddy, what is wrong?' Bluesage took her and held her tightly. You need to come with me now Becca. let's go get some flowers for your mom. And then we are going to leave right away.
