The Burbs are humiliated....                                                                   18

‘Come right in Mrs. Burb. Hello, how are you? I am Stanley Steamer. I am here to be the new physical therapist for our area. Yes, I see you are in wonderful shape’ Tiffany twirled in front of him to show off her girlish figure and giggled. Brad just turned and looked at the certificates on the wall. ‘Oh Mr. Steamer, you are too sweet. Yes sir I do work out every day. I swim a mile and I do push ups and I have sit ups in the afternoon and oh my so many workouts. Now, never mind about me. The issue is him, as she points to her husband in orange.’

Stanley turns around and shakes Brad’s hand. It was a weak handshake. Stanley noted that and decided he would talk to him later. They began a long conversation about his work so far under the community service project. He could see by his demeanor he was a hen pecked man. His eyes glanced over towards Tiffany. She was walking around the room. She noticed the banana left across the book. She looked at the book to see what he was reading. She stared at the x-ray on the wall to see whom it belonged to. She took a long look over his documents on the wall. His certification and schools were all there for her to go over every detail as if she were a spy. This woman is no spy, she is just Tiffany Burb acting like she always does. The nosy busy body that thinks she is Miss Perfect in every way. ‘OK now Brad, you can start by sweeping the outside parking lot.’

He began to chuckle as he told him that the trash was to be taken to the back and put in green can. ‘Brad my boy the red can is not for you to put anything in. In fact, don’t even open the red can.’ He laughs again. ‘You see that is medical waste and well, it won’t be anything you want to see’ Tiffany turns quickly and replies ‘you have medical waste here on the property? Why what could it be? You are not doing those things here. I can’t even say the word.’ She was so indignant so quickly that Stanley turned and went right over to her.

Mrs. Burb, don’t be silly. We do not do those kinds of procedures here. That is for women to decide and go to the next town. It is all taken care of there. Perfectly fine, just not here, no dear. Now please, don’t be so upset. This is a good clean facility that loves all people and will help all people. Or send them to the place that can help them. Now, you just go about your business and I am sure Brad and I will get along great.

He shook her hand and walked her outside and waved as she drove off. He walked back in laughing as he sat at his desk. He laughed, ‘Whew!’

They both have a full day ahead of themselves and a little rest and relaxation along with some recreation will eliminate any further tension that might hinder their performance, they spoke quietly of their days off. They will take a short vacation to Galvasim and play on the beach. But for now they must work on their patient’s history before they arrive. As they sit and work, Dr. David mention to Tabitha about a new patient that has not been seen before. She stops typing and looks up at his monitor. A woman's chart of her pregnancy was on the monitor. But he had to page forward four times to get to today’s date.

'What the heck is that Harley? I've never seen that before.' 'Well, let's see if I can figure it out.' She is 39, almost 40 years old. Seems old to be having babies don't it Tab?' Tabitha kept her comments to herself. She knew perfectly well that men fathered children into their eighties. Why can't a woman in her forties? But she just stared at his monitor and kept silent.

'She is in good shape it looks like. How odd. No doctor reports on her. She is far along too: 231 weeks it looks like. That is incredible. I have not personally seen a case like this. I’ve read about an obscure one many years ago. It was in a class I took. It had an odd name for a class in medical school: What about this? Anyway, her husband filled this out'

Tabitha frowns, 'No doctor report anywhere Harley? How is that possible? Why would she do that? In this day when a doctor can save a mother and baby, why would anyone not go see a doctor? 'Wait hon, oh I see. She might have had her information in the hospital. Remember it got blown to bits? That was some explosion. Well, it might be quite possible that she has been taken good care of all these years and she is just now getting back on track for the last event: The birth. It might be soon from what Mr. Allen writes for symptoms: Vomits regularly, Slightly showing of pink colored blood in panties.’

'Sounds to me she is getting very close to term. Doesn't the body show a bit of color, the 'pink blood' Mr. Allen writes of mean her mucus plug is loosening it's grip?' 'Well yes, Tabitha that is one way to put it. But he writes she is tired often of late. Oh, wait here, I see. He writes she has just recently lost her youngest brother. That can play havoc on a pregnant woman.'

'Well then we are just going to have to give her so much TLC she forgets all her sadness. She is going to I guess eventually deliver this little boy. Wow! Can you imagine how much he will be loved? Four and a half years is a long time to wait for a baby.'

They talked for some time. Neither of them got much more work done. The phone rang. It was the airport. There was a delay. The flight has been rerouted to Simabama. Seems when new patients are coming to the main hospital; they make arrangements with the airport to keep them informed. The entire plane has a day of vacation at the beach resort until their plane can be brought back to HouSim.

Brad Burb was not a happy man. He was tired of this community service. Between scrubbing toilets and washing down puked walls, he has had enough to last him at least a decade. He thinks of how stupid it was of Elton and him to pretend to be bank tellers. They were bored. How could they know that the day the mob showed up, it would be the day they decided to pretend? For SimsGod sake. They didn't shoot anyone. Elton and he just helped them fill in their bags so they wouldn't shoot them. Yeah, they took a few bundles. Heck with Tiffany and Elton's mama being so tight with money, what does anyone expect?

Brad began to scrub the toilet. He quietly wondered how many would show up at this place. How many would show up before his service to community was over. He was so sick of toilets. And he was so sick of Tiffany barking at him all the time too. That made him smile. She would just be nuts if she knew he thought of her as yip yap dog. The little kind of dogs that yip yap over every little thing. Old Man Goth has a couple like that. A person can’t walk by that old mans house without those two stupid little dogs coming to the fence and trying to scare you.

Brad laughed out loud as he rode the elevator to the second floor. Those little dogs of old man Goth couldn't scare a fly they were so small. He mopped and dusted all the equipment and soon was finished. He walked outside to get a smell of fresh air. Then he spied the vending machine. He tapped his pockets. He heard coins. That made him smile. Tiffany wouldn't be back for him for at least fifteen minutes. That gave him time to enjoy life before it all stopped once more.
