His plan began early. The girls woke to find that dad has made breakfast. 'Blue are you up early for a reason dear?' He showed her the bus tickets he had purchased online last night. 'Dear, you have a good friend that has a home we can see. I want you to feel that this forest is not our home forever. Becky you are to stay home and read your book I gave you yesterday. The girls chatted while they devoured their bird eggs and lizard skintoast. Becky promised to clean up for them so they might leave ealier.
Patty and Blue were soon in front of the home Patio wanted to share with them. She walked them inside with no words spoken. The family room had a nice feel to it. Blue did like the furniture in the home. It was simple and not obtrusive to the room. A nice television set was placed in the corner. As they lived outside, they did not own one. The view to the backyard though was wonderful.
'Oh yes, you should go see the backyard Steven. It’s so nice outside with the trees they kept on the lot. I try hard to have them save as many as possible. ‘ Patio and Steven went outside while Patty stopped off in the restroom. Now you see we have the children’s play area in sand to help with falls. Bluesage liked that idea. The outside did have a wonderful feel. The birds in the trees were loud, but he liked that. Mockingbirds would marvelous.
‘I do like this for certain Patio’ he said. They walked back in just in time to see Patty standing in the kitchen. ‘This is nice Blue. I do like it.’ She was hopeful he did too. ‘Patty, let’s see the rest of the house first please.’ ‘Good idea Steven, let’s go upstairs Patty and I’ll show you the size of the other rooms. Nice size for a child or even a teenager.’ The girls headed up while he followed behind. Their chatter was a bit of a bother to him. He was becoming a bit annoyed by this. They had several more homes to look at today. He left them to carry on while he walked the two rooms. They were a nice size and they each had a bathroom. He liked that. But what would it cost?
He noticed she had not spoken about numbers yet. Patio noticed and asked, ‘Why is he so quiet Patty? Have I offended him somehow?’ ‘Oh Patio you just have to let him be. Sometimes quiet is good. I have learned that being married to this man all these years.’ Patio was amazed, as she has known Patty since they were kids. Patty was a chatterbox even as a little girl. Bluesage came out of the bedroom and began to ask questions.
‘Patio, I really do need you to stop hiding and give my wife and I the plans for this home. I find it a nice size, but I feel maybe it is too large for our needs.’ Patty began to pout as she walked down the stairs. ‘Ok Steven, sit down and I’ll show you the numbers. Patty, why don’t you get yourself a drink of water? That water-cooler has good drinking water in it. The three sat and talked for some time.
Patty could sense by his gestures where it was going. She knew it was not in her best interests to find a home with her heart. Blue had told her over and over that the most important way was to use your head. Don’t fall in love with anything and most of all remember what they had agreed to. ‘Well Steven, this is a house with 1000 square feet. Not too small but not very large either. It is on the market now for 42,000, but I can let it go for 37,500 if you sign today. Bluesage told Patio he and Patty needed to go outside for some time to talk. She understood and showed them out. The couple walked the land. Taking in the smells and site was calming. He sensed strongly that she would be unhappy. After some time he asked if she might be able to pray with him. She smiled and stopped. ‘Blue, when I am with you-anything is possible. She kissed him, and he liked it. ‘Whew, ok now darling. Center. Hold my hands.’

Patio waited and then called them to her side. It seemed there was a couple that wanted to meet them. As Bluesage came around the corner he saw the Burb family. Patty came up soon behind him and gasped. She turned and walked back away, so they would not see her. Bluesage told Patio under his breath to get the car started. Brad heard his voice and walked over in time to see them walked away. He knew who he was and was trying to think of how he could trap the man. It would send him high in the ranks of the Don’s family. Tiffany just stared them all- practically snarling.
Patio drove like a wild woman. It frightened Patty the way the little red car got so close to the edge of the cliff. It seemed everything was so close.Finally the silence was broken by the driver, 'Okay you two, that was exciting. Why does Brad and that horrible wife of his want to talk to you two?' She glanced over at her friend. 'Patty is everything alright, you look very pale.' Blue sat forward to see if she was, just in time to see the red truck behind them. 'Patio, can you follow my directions carefully please?' His voice was given with such force, she knew she had to follow. They drove wildly throughout the area, losing the truck somewhere near the port.
'Hey Patty, I think I know where we are. My aunt lives in this part of town' Patty finally opened her eyes. The neighborhood did look familar. She thought she saw Cassandra Goth with her parents. 'Did you see Mortimer and Bella, don't they look old to you? Cassie is a mama already ' Patio laughed, 'You silly girl, they were old when we were little. Cassie is already twenty five. Now pay attention and help me find Aunt Patio Lynn's home.'
'Hey, isn't that Aunt Patio Lynn and Uncle Bruce? Patio parked and all three got out in a hurry. Patio had a squirming toddler in her arms. Bruce had one too, and the eldest toddler was helping also.
Patio Lynn smiled largely, 'Hey there young lady, come on over to me.' She was so happy to see her niece. 'Why hello Patty and Steve, how are you two? My Patty you are close to delivery aren't you?' Patty blushed and hugged the sweet lady.
