After effects of Childbirth... Chapter 9
He was almost finished with his paperwork when Patty came walking up to him. ‘Blue, she is in her tent crying. I have said nothing to her to have her do this. I can’t talk to her either. Seems it is me she is crying about. Can you talk to her honey?’
‘I will think about it. Patty, darling do you feel well?’ she looked at him sort of odd. ‘Well yes Blue, I feel quite well. I just had an almost ten pound baby. Thank you for asking sweet man.’ She smiled her large beautiful joy blinding him.
‘I need to run down to Magic Town for a short while. I have to talk with an old friend that is going to be at a show. Robin is his name. You might have remembered me talking to you about him.
‘Yes, I do remember Robin. Oh sure sweetheart. Go on and the kids and I’ll be fine. I don’t have a care in the world.’ She flashed him her toothy smile again. He stood up and hugged her tightly. Another man could never imagine how lucky he was to have her in his life once more.
‘I’ll get my bag. I’ll check in on Rebecca for a moment.’ As he walked to her tent with his bag in hand, he pondered how he might help her. ‘Becky, are you awake?’ The moonlight came through the doorway of the tent. She was on her pallet looking at him.
‘Yes Dad I am.’ He walked in and knelt down. ‘Listen to me. I understand you are in a changing time. It is not easy for you. You will get through it and be fine. I know it. Now I have to go to town. You have to listen if mom calls you. She is strong, but she just had a baby. Ok?’
She nodded and pulled her blanket up to her chin. Blue wanted to share some information for his brooding daughter. ‘Get beyond the need to possess and control, and your world will be filled with abundance. You'll see real value in every direction, ready to be joyfully lived. Get beyond the need to worry, and you'll be filled with a positive, productive energy. By living fully in the moment of now, you'll build the confidence and strength to handle whatever the future may bring. Get beyond the need to blame and to carry resentment from the past. Then you can put all your energy and focus into making your way successfully forward. Get beyond those limitations you've imagined for yourself.
And the other limitations will begin to fall away as well. Get beyond the petty negativity that only serves to hold you down. And the positive possibilities will be truly endless. Now I have to go. You think on all those things my sweet child. I love you very much.’ He kissed her forehead and tweaked her nose. He walked back out and found his wife in tears.
He went to her quickly and held her. ‘What is wrong? Is it the baby?’ She shook her head no. She sobbed, and he just held her for a few moments. Blue thought a moment and felt he knew. Baby Blues. Having a baby after so long of waiting is almost too much for anyone I suppose. Then a rambunctious teenager in your house too is no fun. He smoothed her hair back off her face.
They began to walk, arm in arm towards the tent. ‘Ok, now that’s better, it’s all right Patty. I won’t be gone long. I think you are fine. You don't have to ignore the difficulties in order to be joyful. You only have to decide that you won't let them get you down. You can live this day with joy, even though there may be no objective reasons for being joyful.’
He motioned toward their daughter's tent, rolling his eyes. She laughed. He continued, 'Joy is its own best reason. Experience joy not as a result, but as a cause. Let your own joy be a driving force that spreads its light far and wide. There is never any reason to feel guilty about being truly joyful. For by living with joy, you are giving far more than you receive. Today is a day to be joyful: In so many ways Patty. Our son is here. Our daughter is becoming a young woman. You and I are incredibly happy. Live with joy no matter what the world may demand. And you'll be creating something of real value.’
He kissed her a long enough to take her sobs out of her breath. ‘I’ll be back later my love. You take care of your self and our children.’ He blew her a kiss and was gone.
Hours later he returned dead on his feet. The meeting had gone well. It was refreshing to see Robin. He was quite successful at his job and that meant good news for Steven too. He knew his job would have an opportunity for Robin to share some of his knowledge.
He jumps out of the Magic Hole, ‘Ah ha, I hope the home front has been quiet.’ He listened and heard only the noise of the traffic in the far distance. He cleaned up and went to put his bag quietly in their tent. To his surprise, his wife was waiting for him: With a nice big smile on her face.
‘Well I see you are feeling well.’ He kissed her on the cheek and came on in to see his son. Sleeping like a baby should: Fat and satisfied
David slept only three hours at a time. He was a very hungry young man and kept his mother’s body producing milk enough for two babies. Their first night together was a night Steven and Patty would not soon forget. They had just added a new person to SimsGod world giving them an added bonus of love.
