Does having a crabby teen and sensitive mom help? 44
As they lie on their mat, staring at their newborn son, they could not stop smiling. He stroked her face. ‘You are so precious to me my darling. This young man has given me a link to life that I am so in awe of. Between our firstborn and him, the circle is now complete.’ He leaned over his baby and kissed his mama on her lips.
She changed him and fed him. Blue loved to lie on his back and watch his wife. The loving site of a mother and her child is so warming. He felt happiness that he had felt with Rebecca, all over again. They were separate children, but both brought him happiness that a child can give by their mere existence.
‘There you go my sweet baby. Here is a bed for you that is snuggly and warm. I am right here by your side if you need mama. She bent and kissed him. She lingered and took a deep breath. The smell of an infant is intoxicating.
She rolled over and was in her husband’s arms. ‘Oh, how did I do that?’ she asked as she giggled. He was so thankful and so overjoyed; he had to share his feelings with her. They loved each other for some time. As she lay in his arms asleep, he looked over at his son. David Leslie.
‘My new son that we were blessed with: Imagine that.’ All of a sudden the young Bluesage decided his mama had slept long enough. Her eyes opened, and she smiled at him. ‘Hi daddy, want to hand me your son please? I’m on the wrong side of our bed.’

That morning Rebecca wanted to hold him. Patty was concerned with her, as she was not sure Becky wasn’t still mad to some degree. Patty walked over and stood near her. ‘Be careful dear, he’s brand new.’ ‘I know mom, it isn’t like I was five.’ Instead of engaging in an argument she let it go by. She knew how hard it was to be a teenager and have to deal with women’s issues each month. Her moods were very big and varied. She did remember that from her youth.
Dad fussed over mom. She watched as he brought her snacks, something to drink. He read to her, talked to her. He meditated with her and kissed her. Becky knew how happy he was. She looked at the baby in the bassinet and wondered if she brought that much silliness to her father as this boy did. A stab of jealousy soared through her. She sighed deeply.
‘Got a nickel I can through down that deep well I just heard you sigh into Beckster?’ Becky just rolled her eyes at her father. Her heart skipped at beat when he winked at her. She had a momentary hit of regret for her behavior, but her age would not let her dwell on that long.

A couple hours later Patty was singing to her little guy. Blue kept staring at her. She finally looked up and asked if he needed a camera. He laughed, ‘Patty, do you feel an odd tingling darling?’
Bluesage had bought something to surprise the girls that morning. While in Magic Town he found a rare fruit baskets that tasted like chocolate. Since both of the girls loved chocolate, he bought them one. As he put it out for the girls, they both came right away to see their surprise. ‘Oh look Becky; daddy brought us a chocolate orange and apple. Yum.’
She wanted to ask her to get her a piece, but she could see by her demeanor that it might start a fight. Bluesage seemed to sense this and brought his wife a plate of all her favorites. When David began to add his voice, it gave dad some time precious time to rock and sing to his young son.
Patty finished her plate and cleaned up the mess. It was time to feed the baby, she was leaking. With a nice time singing and nursing, she got David asleep. She asked Becky to listen for him as she needed a shower, Blue was on line working. Becky was playing with her doll house and tried to ignore her mother. Patty stopped and stood over her.
‘Becky, can you please listen for your baby brother for me? If he cries, go pat his back and talk to him. Please.’ This time she nodded her head. As she walked by Steven, she stopped and waited until he had a moment. ‘Blue, this girl of ours is so trying these days. Hopefully this month will get over soon, eh?’
In a short period of time, she emerged completely dressed and smiling. ‘Ah, that feels so much better. I loved carrying our baby, but I do love wearing cute stuff again. Now, let’s see what’s going on outside.’ She walked out and saw that the computer was shut off. As she turned the corner she could see that the baby’s bed had new sheets on it. Becky was just finishing it up as she turned the corner.
‘BECKY, NO you do not change the sheets with the baby in the bed.’ She ran over and grabbed him as he was tumbling towards the edge of the bassinet: Not harmed whatsoever, just a scary moment for a mom. She takes him and sits down.
‘Mom, settle down. I was watching him. He started to cry, his bed was wet. What’s the big deal?’ She puts him back in his bassinet and turns to tell her kid what the big deal was. ‘When you were little as he is, no one was there to take risks with you. You were always safe. Now you think you can change the baby’s bed, fine. But you do not change the baby’s bed with the baby in the bed. That is what you did wrong. Do not take that attitude so soon please. It scared me. Please do not do that again.’

Becky walked away from her mumbling. ‘I wish you didn’t have him. He’s made you into a crazy woman.’ Patty had excellent hearing.
She called her back and asked her to explain herself. Her mind was ablaze. What is wrong with me she thought?
‘Mom, you are not yourself. You are so crazy lately, I don’t tell anyone about my mom anymore. When someone wants to know about my family, I tell them I have a dad.’

All of a sudden her dad appeared. ‘Where are you going little one? Stop right there and turn around. I cannot imagine the words that you spoke were from your heart. That would not be the Beckster mom and I know and love so much. She looked down at the ground, embarrassed. ‘Dad, I, uh.’ ‘Hush, listen to me. Have I ever spoke to you about the magic of kindness?’ She looked and began to speak, then closed her mouth. She shook her head. ‘Well, kindness is almost always bigger when it is received than when it is given.
What may be a small thing for you to offer can make a tremendous difference to those who receive it: Like some nice comments to your mother to make her smile. Kindness vastly increases the effectiveness of your efforts. Even a small kindness can bring a big result. And a truly ambitious kindness can change the world.
Kindness multiplies itself in a way that seems almost magical. You can see that in so many places in so many ways. Watch for it Becky and you will see kindness grows like a flower.
Those whose lives are filled with richness are those who know and understand the value of genuine kindness. Kindness is not a difficult thing to grasp or to bring about, and is freely available to all who wish to practice it. All you have to do is try.
Try NOT to say things that will hurt. Kindness prevents that from occurring. Every day you come across numerous opportunities for kindness. Each one of them is brimming with a value more precious than gold.
Avail yourself of those opportunities to spread kindness. And know the special magic that kindness brings. If I have to talk to you every day gal, I will. You are not to treat your mother with unkind behavior or words.
Take your frustrations out in a better way. Weed the flowerbeds if you need something constructive to do. Do you have this inside you now Rebecca? ‘
She looked over at him and replied, ‘Yes sir I do.’
‘Good, now come give me a hug. Then go hug your mother. After that you shall go straighten up your tent while I talk with mom.’
