A magic man saves the day!    Chapter 11

Early on Wednesday Blue got up and worked on repairing the broken chairs. He had them mostly assembled when

he heard Patty stirring in the tent. She was putting their little guy back to sleep. It had been a restful night.

Her trance he had her in for a bit last night did not have any lasting effects on her ability to care for the baby.

Just remove what was most dark.

He thought he might get the girls some breakfast started. He spied a nest full of fresh eggs. His wife emerged from the tent.

‘Ah, that was some sleep I had. I don’t know that I have had that good of one before. I can’t really remember.

’ Patty tired to rub her eyes to the wakeful time. Finally she was smiling so brightly ‘What’s for breakfast sage man?’

Steven smiled. He could hear in her voice the joy that was present.

'Why we have the most delectable breakfast one might request: a Vulture’s eggs, marshmallow crème for the topping,

and ground up leaves for the toast.

’ She rubbed her hands together. ‘Oh that sounds wonderful darling. I’ll get dressed before our little king wakes up.’

He went and moved the chairs back to the table. As she showered, his other girl woke up.

‘Hi daddy, how are you?’ He turned and spied the most precious young daughter a man could ask for.

She was dressed in her bright yellow sweater and yellow flowered skirt.

He knew her whole darkness was missing.  Patty changed into more comfortable clothes for the time.

Her dress felt wonderful but she knew her baby would find a way to leak something on it.

‘Well look who I get to see this morning. My great big sunshine just rose. Are you hungry gal?’

He really could see by looking at them as they began to see each other that the sparks were gone.

He felt relief and happiness. They all chatted while eating. Becky had a funny dream that they had gone

to an island and swam all day. They had a great boat ride back. Patty looked over at Blue and seemed puzzled.

She somewhat had a feeling they had done that.

He just winked at her and kept eating his breakfast. While the family ate, he noticed a motion out of the corner of his eye.

He spied a tiny little raccoon: A baby that had no fear of them. He slowly walked towards it, cooing and purring,

as an animal might understand. The baby stayed there and let Blue pet it. As he sat there he listened intently to the girls conversation.

‘So darling, you are excited about the new school you will attend in the fall?’

‘Oh mama it sounds great doesn’t it? I can have brand new friends. I am really looking forward to the different climate too.’

They talked of what kind of place they might live in. It became a bit of a game and they were having so much fun.

The giggles were a welcome sound for the family. ‘Hey Beckster, come pet this baby. She is so cute and friendly.’

Becky stood up and hugged her mama, then went to sit by her dad. ‘Oh daddy, she is soft like a kitten. Can we keep her?’

Patty heard David, went, and got him. She watched them play as she fed the baby.

The three talked of what kind of tricks they would teach the raccoon if they kept her.

Becky was making sweet sounds, coaxing the baby raccoon near her. Patty was singing quietly to her young man.

As dad sat there, he began to think of something good. He knew how much his wife loves coffee.

He saw in the on line paper a new shop that serves coffee and lets pets run around. He looked over at his daughter

and the wild baby animal. It made him smile when he thought of pets, and that being theirs. 'Hey girls, I have an idea.

Why don't we let that little baby go home to mama, and we gather ourselves and go on a ride to the Community Center.

There is a brand new coffee shop and a pet store for you to glance through Miss Beckster.'

He twisted around and saw a large smile on his wife's face. Becky shooed her little friend away.

Becky hugged dad for showing her the raccoon. ‘Daddy, you and mommy are the best parents I ever could have.

Thank you so much. When are we leaving?’ She looked at her mother feeding David.

‘Mama, I want to be a good mom just like you when I grow up.’

Patty smiled and blew her a kiss. 'Go wash your hands darlin' we will leave as soon as I get this little boy dressed.'
