Low Blood Sugar and Cranky Baby don't mix... 73

He walked back to his breakfast and finished it. Patty stayed busy with David. He seemed fussy and fretful today. He could see by watching her that she was nervous and high strung this morning. Visiting with Robin yesterday left her feeling odd. She knew the man had told her that their daughter was smart and safe. As a mother it hurt her to know that she could do nothing to make this situation go away. He watched as she tried to calm the baby. David was not even a week old, yet he could sense his mommy was not feeling good. He wondered if he might help. He felt she might need a glass of orange juice. That could get her sugar level up and maybe her head would clear.
Blue walked over to see if they had any in the new fridge he had bought them. As he looked, she walked in tearfully carrying David.
‘Blue I cannot get him settled. I have fed him, changed him, burped him and rocked him. I am at a loss and my nerves are so frazzled this morning. Can you please see if you can settle him down?’ Tears were streaming down her pink cheeks

Bluesage had a feeling she was very low in blood sugar from her behavior. He had his hands full and walked over to her. ‘Listen to me. You need to take a deep breath my sweet love. I will walk out to the table and set this down for you. You must drink some of this and eat something Patty. Now come on.’
He walked over and made her a sandwich. He poured her some juice. He gave it to her she drank it down while holding the baby. He could see she was in trouble. Her hands were shaking and she seemed to not be able to control her emotions this morning. A nursing mother needs to keep her caloric intake high enough to feed the baby and herself. She saw he had a sandwich for her in his hand.
‘You can have this darling and you should feel better very soon.’ She smiled bleakly and looked at the plate. ‘You made me a liverwurst sandwich Steven?’
The liver is from the animals I shoot for our dinner at night. It can make a tasty snack. You know I have special charms when it comes to food. Don’t think it as liver, think of it as Sims God giving you his energy with each bite. When you are fully charged my darling, we are going to the beach.'
‘What? The beach? With a week old infant you want to go to the beach? Bluesage what are you saying?’

She hands him his son so she might try to eat the sandwich and begin to feel more like herself. She is surprised by the flavor of the sandwich. Blue is a magic man in the kitchen too.
She watches him as he sings to the baby. A sweet lullaby is so comforting; she closes her eyes while she chews, listening to the sweet sound of his voice. Her mind remembers her own mother singing this to her brothers when they were new.

Bye, baby bunting
Daddy's gone a hunting
To get a little rabbit skin
To wrap his baby bunting in

A rosy wisp of cloud to win

You know you are a sweet little boy and your sister Becky really loves you. When we find your sister, Becky will be so happy to see you son.' He puts his hand on his chest and looks at Patty. 'His heartbeat really pounds when I mention his sister.’
Patty wipes her mouth with her napkin. ‘Well Blue, I am sure she loves him too. That by the way, was a marvelous sandwich. I feel better already.’
