Oh my goodness, is this job worth all THAT?? 113

She walked over and stood looking at the black hole. How she hated to jump in there. It never was a good ride and she ended up bruised each time. Her dad had not actually shown her the right ways to ride. He told her that she was too small and needed extra protection. She had seen him try to tell mom, but mom had just let him wrap her in his magic. Mom never wanted to try and learn the ways of the routes. Magic was her way she always told dad.
'Do I have any of dad's magic?' She thought of some of his incantations, and jumped. 'Have Faith Always' was in her head. In no time she was on the other side of the ride.

Unfortunately when she opened her eyes, she was in trouble. As soon as she stood the clown came over.
'Hey, you are supposed to take over the ride. We need to see if a customer will drown or just get wet. After that Rodney will find you and tell you where to go next. Can you swim? How long can you hold your breath?'
Billy the cotton candy man noticed how small this kid was. Why did this one have such a horrible job, and where are the parents of this kid? As he walked back to his kart he thought of all the poor kids that were sucked into the Magic Towns, only to be abandoned by their family.

'Oh no, they FORGOT to tell me when to hold my breath!'
Five minutes later it was done. She stood at the edge of the ride, shivering and teeth rattling. She was freezing and felt so weak. She had not eaten anything yet. Her muscles were aching and the water still was dripping from her suit. Inside the costume was a chilled child.
After she was able to move her body, she walked like a zombie towards the smell of hot popcorn and hotdogs. She was so transfixed on the smell, she never saw anyone.
Her parents were so distressed by the young lady that just passed. She was begging for food, it almost broke Patty's heart. The girl could not have been more than fifteen. 'Blue, why are all these young children all over here?' He brought her close to him so he might not upset anyone.
'My love, on this Night of Reuniting with our Child, choose to offer the greatest, most meaningful and lasting gift you can give anyone. With every word, with every thought, with every gesture, with every interaction, give love. This is something you already know, you shared that with that sweet girl. She is much better becasue of it.' He kissed her gently. 'Now let's go watch a show for now, shall we?'

After she ate a hot dog she went to sit down. Her costume was still damp and she was chilled. She knew how to warm herself, her mama taught her. 'I close my eyes and think of our Father Sun and BE the Sun.' As she sat filling her mind with warmth, others were coming near her.
She was already in trouble. Two brothers who were the acting managers, came over with news that she was to find the golf course and stand there until they find someone to do what happens next. She heard what they said, then looked up at them confused.. 'What are they talking about?'
The larger of the two looked down at her and yelled 'GET OVER TO THE GOLF COURSE NOW'

She jumped and and ran out. As she ran around the corner a hand grabbed her, 'Hey Becky it's me.' A young man was waiting for her. She had no idea it was Harry until he smiled. She was so pleased to see him, she almost began to cry.
He had not put on his big head to work, he had the night off. He had seen her and hoped he could talk her into going to a different Magic Town that had crazy music and great food. She loved the idea of that, only in the moment she was about to say something, the boss walked up and screamed at her.
Harry spoke fast, 'Cool it Rodney, this is only a young girl. She will do what she is told to do, if you speak in a kinder voice. Now stop acting like such a bully.' Rodney excused himself and walked off. Harry had humilated him, when actually he had done it to himself.

Before she ran to her new job, she turned and ran right into him falling to the ground. Harry laughed and picked her up. 'Now Becky you just have to stop running so fast. What is wrong?' She laughed and tried to catch her breath.
'Well Harry I was hoping you would try and find me later on tonight and we can go to that Town?' She smiled at him in a way that a Bluesage woman knows how.
Harry smiled and winked at her, 'We'll see. Now get to work before that Rodney monster comes over.' They both laughed and hugged. For a reason he could not figure, he went to find his costume. He felt a desire to stay and keep an eye on Becky. She was in trouble maybe and he could help her.

Harry was gone. She stood there for a moment, the air was sharp, to her it felt odd. Something felt different. She stood very still and let her senses take the readings she was feeling. Unknown to her, a dear old friend of Blue's was watching for his daughter. Merlin was not around the corner when Becky quickly looked, thinking someone was there.
A message was sent to her father, a feeling sent to a father in need of goodness.
