Becky woke with a huge headache. She found the food in the fridge the movers had left her, but it was rotten. A note told her she had to work after seven at night. This gave her time to shower and sit quiet till she felt ready for another round of being a skeleton.

As she walked down the stairs, drying her hair with a towel; something caught her eye. Where were her pillows? The apartment had some great big ones, now they all were gone. That gave her a chill up her spine. The last pillow she had were stolen. At least these were not hers.

She threw the towel in the bathroom and began to clean up the refrigerator. Glancing up, she saw it was almlost five. Her telephone rang; it was from Clown Town. She was to bring her white and her blue skeleton to work tonight. They had many jobs for her, and she could not be late.

Becky began to ask a question when she realized it was not a person speaking, but a machine. She hung up and felt the exhaustion hit her before she even made her jump to work. A quick memory scan gave her a pizza delivery in the area. She hoped they still worked.

Looking in her boxes, she finally found her costumes. She selected the white one, it was a bit cooler to start with. The blue costume gave her a rash sometimes. Becky stood up and looked around her room. The whole area was a wreck. The door bell rang, and she heard someone talking in her house. She ran quickly out of the room, slamming the door shut.

Becky gave the man the coupon she saved, along with a few coins. The man was kind enough to pull out of his pocket the remainder, winking as he handed her the box.

'Thank you so very much. I didn't know I was so hungry.' The young man,  with no words spoken, handed her a candy bar. It was her favorite prize, marshmellows smotherd in eye cream.

'I saw you were having pizza, can I have some too?' It was her owner of the buildings, Mr. Burb. The pizza man left quickly, as Brad walked over and grabbed half the pizza to hold in his hands. She was shocked it didn't burn him.

He spent half the time shoving pizza in his mouth, the other half telling her the costume would not give her any points in the Clown Town. They wanted rough kids, and she didn't seem like that kind. Becky just let him talk while she filled her back pack.

Brad watched her carefully, wondering who she really was. He had not seen her except in costume. Tiffany had, but she was still so mad at him about the watering. He had to move his dresser to the back of this apartment. It was full of seeds that he had wanted to plant. Yet his wife screaming so loud hurt his head. He had a hard time thinking when that shrew was shrieking.

That kid seemed too young to be out like this. He could sense what she wanted to be, tough; yet she was very tender. Even as horrid a man as Bad Brad Burb was, he had a tenderness that all people possess.
