Old Town Story for this family- flashback...one week prior to the camping out doors (page 155)
Time had been very quiet and still. Blue woke up early and went to work, trying not to disturb his family. Patty would be up later to feed David and check on Becky. As a growing teenager she liked to sleep past eleven. Since she was home schooled she gave her that gift. By noon she was ready to get her up and get her moving. She had to remind her to clean her room first. Patty walked downstairs shaking her head, ‘Teenagers.’ The books on life were set at the kitchen table. Patty let her eat first before she began to study. Becky was a good student and enjoyed the lessons her daddy had left for her.

Today her lesson was on consistency: Are you constantly contradicting yourself? Do your words say one thing and your actions say another? Do you spend the morning filled with love and compassion, and then act out of hatred and anger in the afternoon? Do you live one day with positive focus and then spend the next day mired in negativity? You cannot expect to make any real progress if you are continually changing directions.

Your thoughts and actions have negligible effect when they act against each other. So seek to point all your thoughts, all your actions, in the same positive direction. Let the individual moments of your life reinforce and support each other. The positive effect can be tremendous. By being consistent, the same actions that once had no effect suddenly start to have a real impact. You already have sufficient time, energy and resources to get where you want to go. Just be consistent, point all your efforts in the same direction, and that is where you'll go.

Patty heard a noise and looked out to see Blue getting out of the taxi. ‘How odd for dad to be home early.’ She looked at her watch and saw it was only one in the afternoon. He walked in and gave her a big kiss.
‘Hey gal, didn’t you say you needed to get a few things at the store? I called and we are going to get David’s future read today while we are there. Come on girls get ready to go. I’ll get the baby Patty.’ Blue looked down at her and smiled. She loved him in a dark suit. He was so handsome.
‘You aren’t going in that suit are you Blue, and I need to change first. Becky clean up honey so we can go.’
