The room was dark and she could not see him.
David, mommy hears you baby.....
Here I am, don’t cry now. David, mommy hears you.
Patty walked the hallway. It was so long. She shivered and tried to warm up by crossing her arms across her chest. ‘Where is he? I know I put him in his bed. Why can’t I find him.’ Patty turned and twisted in her sleep.
‘David mommy hears you. I’m coming right now baby. Don’t cry David; I’m in the hallway. She looked in room after room after room. None of them had the baby in them. She became panicked as she ran through the castle. In her bed, she grabs for something in mid air, but misses.
Patty lies still, her breath coming in shallow bursts. She takes a deep breath. ‘No, don’t’ do that. He’s my baby. Don’t’ do that. Please don’t do that. No he’s mine. He is just a little tiny baby. No you can’t.’ Patty is clutching at the front door. She cannot seem to open the door. She looks around to find something to smash the window but nothing will move. Patty moans and pushes her sheets off of her. She begins to pant and whine. Bluesage has slept deeply and soundly. He can sense something is beginning. It feels wrong. He begins to come slowly out of the depths of a sage man’s soul.
All of a sudden she is in her room again. The baby bed has a baby in it. She knows he’s in his bed and she has a huge sense of relief set in. As she watches the baby begins to cry and she sees with horror what is happening. The baby bed is filling with milk. The baby is choking and the bed is filling with milk. Something seems to cover David’s mouth as his cry is muffled. She sees in one more instant that the cradle is full of milk and it is overflowing the edges and splashing on the ground.

She begins a blood curdling scream, ‘BLUE, HELP HIM… HE’S DROWNING! ‘ Bluesage is wide -awake and shaking Patty to get her to wake up. She opens her eyes, begins to sob, and tries to talk. ‘He was crying Blue and I couldn’t get to him. I tried, I tried, and the more I did the farther he was from me. Blue then his baby bed began to fill with milk. He was crying for his mommy to feed him. His crib Bluesage, it was full of milk, and it spilled over and the baby. My baby is in that bed.’ Blue had his glasses on and was sitting beside her immediately to soothe her.
‘Shush mi’love. It’s just a dream. A dream is just a dream. Now calm down. Hey mama let’s go get our little man up and change his nightshirt shall we?’ He peered down at her and she looked up and tried to smile. He didn’t go for that, bent, and kissed her deep and long to get her mind to relax. He hugged her tight. ‘Feel better Patty?’

‘Ok I’m ready daddy. She had a sparkle in her eye once again. 'I’ll get him and you get his blue night shirt with the little duck on the front.’
A shake of the sleep out of their heads and they both were up. He looked through the drawer, trying to find that shirt. It wasn't too bright in the room, it was still the middle of the night. Patty yawned loudly and walked over to her baby's bed.
