Patty was not able to go with Blue to talk with Robin. She worked with Becca on her papers that her father required of her. It was a very quiet afternoon. Rebecca and she both tried to prop up each other. They played board games and even took turns in the coloring book. Patty made a special lunch of tiny sandwiches and for a special treat she had marshmallow pie. Becky and mom never spoke about the baby. Becky could see by the line between her eyebrows, that mom was very stressed.
At one point she felt well enough to go outside for a breath of fresh air. She was startled by a pixie and ran back in the house to change out of her EMT suit. She said nothing to her daughter and worked on dinner. Bluesage came home that night. He had spent much of the late afternoon with Robin. They had cruised the neighborhood for some signs that might show. In fact there was many signs that showed. None could be sought out yet. Robin dropped him off. As he stood and looked at his house, he felt good about the baby. He was being cared for properly and soon would be given back to his mama.
As he walked in, he smelled a nice dinner. Shepard's Pie and blueberry muffins he saw as he peeked in the oven.
'Dad, mom said that might make them fall.' Becky yelled at her father. He turned and ran over to tickle her. They laughed and he felt joy in his heart as he heard her beautiful noise that was her joy. He turned and saw his wife.
She was still in her nightgown. She had a distant stare about her. She looked right at him and turned to go into their room. He looked at his daughter, 'What happened today Beckster??'
'We have had a great day dad. We played games and ate. I helped her make dinner. She even got dressed and was outside for a while after dark. She ran in all startled and changed. You better go talk to her dad.'
Then the phone rang. It was the police. They wanted to know how big David was. They found a dead baby in the creek.' Oh our baby is brand new, yes and thank you. She looked at her dad and smiled. She was afraid she would alarm her father.' Dad that was someone asking about our missing baby.' She felt badly for lying.
Bluesage hugged his young girl and looked at her eyes. 'How are you daughter of mine?' She smiled brightly and let him know. She felt good with her work today, yet he knew she has lied to him. He just was quiet over it. His hearing was very good, and he heard what the man had said to her on the phone. He would not tell Patty of this incident.
He looked at dinner and asked her if she would mind serving up some dinner for them all. He would go get mom and be out very shortly. Becky smiles and gets up. She already knows that her dad is going to have to work on mom. She acted weird after being outside. Worse yet, she freaked after the phone call and Becky had to just stand back. It was actually a bit frightening.
.
'Patty, are you in here darling? What are you doing? You are not looking at me Patty. Are you mad at me? I know I was gone a long time. I should have called you, sweetheart. No you are not mad about that huh?'
She turns with vacant eyes and walks away from him, as if he was not even there.

He walked towards her, and she moved further. To Blue, this was a new behavior she has not shown. He stood for a moment and watched her. It was apparent she was slightly in a trance. His mind thought of options he has given her when her mind falters, though this situation was a rather hard one to configure. A mother's mind torn apart is very tattered and he felt a deep desire to heal her wounds in way he could.
