Patty tried hard not to upset Becky anymore. Her day at school was important. Bluesage and Patty had her go to the private Metaphysics School twice a week. It just so happened today was one of those. This privately pleased Patty. She knew her heart was broken and she had to have time to center herself. Patty helped Becky get ready for school. They both tried to cheer each other up with silly little jokes. Patty was unable to eat, yet she was happy to see her daughter still had her appetite. Becky actually helped her mother clean up before she brushed her teeth and combed her hair.
‘Becky darling, the bus is here.’ Becky ran up to her mama and hugged her tight. ‘Mommy, daddy still loves us doesn’t he?’ Patty tried very hard not to cry as she smiled and kissed her baby girl, hugging her tightly. ‘Beckster, your daddy is the most marvelous man I have ever known. He is so full of love for us both that he burst into song quite often. Don’t worry about him darling. He will be back when his business is finished.’ Becky’s eyes watered as she said ‘Why did he take my pet mommy? Will he feed him proper?’ This made Patty laugh and she tickled her young girl as she heard the bus horn once more. ‘You better get going little one, and do not worry about Greg. I bet daddy took him for the adventure.’
As soon as she left she broke down and ran inside. Why did he do this to her? He knew how badly she felt about the baby. Now he had this to add to her downhearted mood. She went in and changed her clothes. Splashing cold water on her face gave her a chill up her spine. She felt her milk let down and sat down to pump the excess out. Each day she filled bottles to put in the freezer. Her baby son was not going to miss her milk if she got him back in time. This caused a new wave of sadness to hit her. Patty looked around and knew what Blue would expect of her. To stand up and take it like the woman he loved. She could hear Blues’ voice in her head: Every moment you spend worrying will bring whatever you're worried about closer to reality. That's certainly not what you want to be doing. Instead, take each worry and turn it around. Put your energy where it will do the most good. Every moment, every situation, every issue and every concern has a positive side. Find it and bring it to life.
She would not let the sad event tear her to pieces. This was not based on his love for her. She felt clearly he had some dangerous business and he took Greg along to help. Why he didn’t confide in her puzzled her, but she knew he was a trustworthy soul and she felt sure it would not be the end for them. In some way he was protecting her and Becky and she had to respect that wish. She loved him so very much. Patty looked at the bassinet and picked up David’s carrier. She took a walk and came across a favorite spot that she and Blue used to meditate. She sat in front of the golden Buddha and began to pray. She prayed for the safe return of her two boys..
