And I would do anything for love, I'd run right into hell and back
I would do anything for love, I'll never lie to you and that's a fact
Patty looks at her watch and realizes she needs to get going. Becky will be home later and is always starving. She thanks SimsGod for his blessings and walks back toward the house. The air is heavy with rain in the forecast. She sees the skies are darkening. Bluesage always has loved the rain. Her mind goes back to their beginnings. He explained to her the marvel of nature and how in awe he was of it all. Even after all these years she still can feel his powerful excitement as the rain fell on their heads as they walked home. This thought made her smile, and then a sad wave hit her. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She thought of a deep blue sky and let her sadness float away. She felt peaceful and realized that she had her loving husband to thank for that. He had taught her so long ago that centering was the spice of life and if done, the rest came without pressure.
Patty walked in the house and then saw for the first time the bag that was Blue’s. It seems he must have sat it down while he wrote the note he left them. She looked inside to see what he left behind. ‘Hmm, clean clothes, what’s this?’ Patty opened the small box and gasped. Inside were small frames with their wedding at the carnival and the newborn photos of Becky and David. She ran her finger over the photograph of their wedding day. ‘I was so young, he was so charming.’ She laughed at herself, he still was.
No matter what the circumstances, life still moves forward. There was laundry to fold, the dishes to wash. She makes a small cake and pours some lemonade into a pitcher. Becky loves cake and lemonade. As she sat the tray down, she saw the note he had left them. She picked it up, trying to decide what to do with it. A small thought ran through her head and she re-reads the note from Blue. Something caused her to turn the paper over; on the other side, she found written:
Patty, dear. Do you remember that I promised to tell you how old I was? Well, I am about 1600 years old. I take anagathics ( anti-aging drugs) supplied by my employer the Time Corps. Yes dear, I am a Time Cop. But it’s only part-time. We do investigations, rescues and border patrol. I hope to rescue our boy. The work is typically dangerous so I might not return. Reassure Beckster, please. I love you both.
She gasped, how is this possible? She sat down at the table with the coffee that she had poured herself. It was growing cold as she sat in a deep trance. Patty could see in her mind, times that Bluesage would be drinking something he never explained. All their married life he was full of energy and stamina. How could he be so old and she not know it? Patty began to think back. She got up and took the photos out of his bag. ‘Oh my SimsGod, he has not aged one bit in all our years together. How did I never see this?’ The idea that Blue has had a part time job all these years amused her in a sense. They never seemed to be poor, even though they had lived a simple life. Never did she question her beloved on their finances as it always baffled her. She sat down and looked at the dual photos on the table of the kids. ‘Your daddy is a marvelous and mysterious man. Even mommy didn’t know this.’ Her mind was overwhelmed and she could not think past this moment.
The loud crackling of thunder startled her and brought her back to her kitchen. She heard the bus and Becky singing as she walked towards the house. This made Patty smile, as she could tell that this darling of theirs was like her daddy. That thought brought a moment of panic, but then passed. She would not divulge Blue’s secret, just reassure her that daddy loved them and would be home when he was finished with his business. Particularly she would not tell her daughter how dangerous his work was. This was something she had to keep from her mind also. It was not possible for her to think of life with out Blue
