The doorbell rang and Becky ran so fast she almost fell. 'HELLO she yelled as she opened the door.' The joy in her heart over the idea of playing with Cindy CEO gave her a dizzy feeling. Patty was right behind Becky.
'Come on in Patio and have a cup of coffe.' It was great to see Patio. She had remarried and was so happy. Her brother Bruce had moved out of the house. 'Oh I'm so sorry Patty, I have to get back. Cindy, can you please help Becky with her stuff?'
Patty had brought Becky’s bag down. She handed it to Becky and gave her girl a big hug and kiss. ‘Now you have all the fun you can sweet pea and mama will call you if I hear from daddy.’ She stood and watched as the car left. ‘I wonder if we will ever have a car.’
Patty went in to change clothes. Since Blue had set up an appointment for her in the library, she wanted to dress appropriately. She turned from the mirror and saw the baby cradle, and could feel herself falling below the surface. Patty immediately stopped and sat on the edge of their bed. She closed her eyes and centered herself. In a few minutes she was calm and ready to go.
She found a basket to carry her personal things and anything she might find. Patty checked to see if the doors were locked. A quick glance over the kitchen satisfied her enough to be comfortable to leave home. Having her husband and baby missing made it harder to go out into the public view.
The day was bright and lovely. The autumn was so pretty around here. All the trees changed colors of red, yellow, and orange. Many flocked to this area to take part in the glory and beauty of the Sims Earth in the Northeast. The air was crisp. She had printed up his instructions. She scanned it. Placing the paper in her basket she turned towards the intersection that was about a half a block. A half a block in this area was about a quarter mile. The streets on this side of town were long.
The Miskatonic Exhibit Museum was on her right. It was very interesting and Becky and she loved to look at the primitive exhibits in the Oriental/Human Room. Patty slowed and watched the crowds. Two girls were trying to fix a bike, one on her hands and knees working while her friend stood and cried. ‘Excuse Ma’am, did these glasses fall out of your basket?’ Patty looked down and saw her sun glasses. How did that happen? ‘Thank you so much sir. That was very kind of you. ‘
